Julie Murillas, M.S.
Throughout our lives, the story is constantly changing, and as humans, we are looking to adapt and navigate through different seasons. Some of those seasons may be harder than others, and it takes courage to work through some of those hard moments and take a look inward. It is my honor to work with individuals who are ready to further explore and understand themselves and peel back layers to begin the healing, acceptance, and growth process. The privilege to be part of that journey is not something I take lightly and hold very dear to my heart. We all have something that has been hard to talk about or accept about ourselves, and we have all felt stuck figuring out where to begin. Together, I will work with you on how to further understand yourself with useful tools and techniques which will help unearth your inner world and go to places you didn't know existed.
As a first-generation immigrant, having grown up in two cultures, I understand the dynamics of struggling with identity. Each of us has a story, and I will do my best to understand where you come from with the utmost respect and empathy. I enjoy working with different cultures and backgrounds, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have worked with clients in both languages, so please don’t let language be a barrier. I work collaboratively with individuals in career transitions, teens, adults, and couples. Helping clients identify their strengths, their barriers, and the strategies that will help them foster a sense of peace and meaningful living. If you find stress, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain or a health condition has made you feel overwhelmed, I am here to help. I strive to provide a safe, supportive environment for clients by meeting them where they are with empathy, compassion, and a little bit of humor.
I appreciate the opportunity to bring together my love for therapy and mental health care together with my love and passion for teaching yoga. I am of the mindset that we are of one mind and body, and I often integrate the learnings from my yoga training into my work as a mental health care professional.
Though therapy is a huge part of my life, it is only a fraction of who I am. When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time listening to podcasts, cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, walking, yoga and spending time with my loved ones.
