Taking the first step and choosing to start therapy (or maybe trying therapy again) can be a difficult decision. Whether you’re navigating the pressures of your career, experiencing anxiety or depression, working through conflict in relationships, or feeling stuck while striving for purpose and fulfillment, you may find yourself overwhelmed and uncertain about where to begin making changes. Managing the fast pace of life and the challenges of "adulting” can be much tougher than anticipated, often leaving you feeling unbalanced and depleted. As a therapist, I create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can breathe, process, and find clarity. Whether you’re looking to develop practical tools to thrive or need a space to simply unpack and reflect, I’m here to help you regain your balance, redefine your purpose, and reconnect with the best version of yourself.
MY APPROACH TO COUNSELING
I believe therapy should feel like a partnership built on trust, authenticity, and understanding. Our sessions will center around you, your goals, your story, and your values. I believe therapy can also include moments of laughter and lightness, making it a warm and down-to-earth experience where you can truly feel comfortable and at ease. Clinically, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help you challenge unhelpful patterns and reconnect with your strengths. My work is always informed by a multicultural lens and tailored to meet your specific needs as a whole person, not just your role or circumstances.
GAY BLACK MEN
My identity as a Gay Black Man gives me a unique passion as therapist and deep empathy in supporting other Gay Black Men who often find themselves managing life at the intersection of multiple identities and expectations. Whether you’re navigating family dynamics, professional pressures, dating and relationships, or deepening your self-acceptance, I provide a space where you can show up fully as yourself without fear of judgment. My approach focuses on helping you build a strong foundation of self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-empowerment.
LAWYERS & PROFESSIONALS
I also specialize in supporting lawyers and high achieving professionals who feel the weight of high-stakes environments where vulnerability is often seen as weakness. In a fast-paced world that often rewards nonstop productivity, I help clients break free from perfectionism, manage stress, and find fulfillment beyond their titles and achievements. My goal is to help you cultivate a balanced, meaningful life where your well-being is prioritized alongside your professional success.
LGBTQ+ AFFIRMING CARE
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand firsthand the importance of creating a space where you can be unapologetically you. Whether you’re in the process of coming out, navigating intimacy and relationships, or redefining your sense of self, my role as a therapist is to provide compassionate and affirming support. You deserve a space where your identity and experiences are validated, respected and celebrated.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
With over 10 years as a therapist, my clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including community health organizations, psychiatric hospitals, non-profits, and university counseling centers. I’ve also served as an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor, teaching and mentoring future counselors in the fundamentals of therapy, advanced techniques, and professional development. These experiences allow me to offer you a supportive, informed space where your goals and challenges are met with expertise and care.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
When I’m not counseling, I’m maintaining my own work-life balance and self-care. You can find me exploring new brunch spots with friends, binge-watching my favorite shows, or staying active with tennis, cycle and weightlifting.
