About Me:
I am a dedicated therapist specializing in Gottman, Solution-Focused, Sex, and Person-Centered Therapy. My approach emphasizes a collaborative and non-judgmental space, allowing clients to feel safe exploring their challenges, goals, and self-reflections. I work with a wide range of clients, providing support for individuals, couples, neurodivergent individuals and relationships, and those seeking comprehensive assessments.
Working with Individuals:
In individual therapy, I strive to empower clients to move from a problem-focused to a solution-focused mindset. Many people come to therapy feeling out of solutions and/or unequipped to manage their issues—I believe the answers often lie within them. My role is to guide individuals through a process of self-discovery, helping them find effective ways to address and overcome their unique challenges. I create a compassionate environment where vulnerability is encouraged, allowing clients to explore their deepest thoughts while focusing on growth in the present and future.
Working with Couples:
I am passionate about working with couples to enhance intimacy, increase emotional connection, and improve communication. As a Certified Sex Therapist through the Texas Sex Therapy Institute and having completed three levels of the Gottman Training, I use empirically based techniques to help couples strengthen their bonds, manage conflicts, and build lasting trust. I recognize the importance of an active and fulfilling sex life and the unique challenges couples face in this area. Whether addressing issues of communication, intimacy, past trauma, or infidelity, I aim to help couples create meaningful and secure attachments, empowering them to reach the type of relationship they desire.
Supporting Neurodiversity:
I also work extensively with neurodivergent clients, both individually and in couples’ therapy. For individuals, I focus on supporting them in understanding and celebrating their unique strengths while addressing areas for growth. In relationships where one or both partners are neurodivergent, I help couples navigate their unique dynamics, communicate effectively, and build empathy for each other’s experiences. My approach is tailored to the distinct needs of neurodiverse individuals and couples, providing a safe and validating environment for open dialogue and connection.
Assessment Services:
In addition to therapy, I provide comprehensive assessments at our office, including those for ADHD, psychoeducational evaluations, psychological assessments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations. My evaluations are designed to give a thorough understanding of an individual’s strengths and identify areas where additional support might be needed. I believe that a complete assessment can empower individuals with the resources, accommodations, and interventions that lead to greater success in their personal, academic, and professional lives.
Outside of Work:
When I’m not in session, I enjoy time with my husband, daughter, and two pups, Maggie and Slinky. I’m passionate about the outdoors, live music, and browsing vinyl record stores. Travel, reading, music, and caring for my garden all bring balance and joy to my life.
