March Position of the Month: Slide to Satisfy
Written by Katie Mitchell, M.A., NCC, CST, LPC

March’s highlighted position of the month is here, and it’s time to try the Slide to Satisfy! While a sexual experience can definitely aid in feeling emotionally connected with one another, it is also a great time to get your blood pumping and release physical energy together. Remember that a sexual experience will release Oxytocin and other beneficial endorphins that will help you both feel bonded to one another and release stress/tension. Start any sexual experience by doing some light stretching together to help avoid injuries and/or muscle cramps that might arise during a sexual experience, as this is still the most common sexual injury.
Ideally, you and your partner would try out the Slide to Satisfy on supportive surface (such as a sofa or chair). The penetrating partner will sit, leaning back against the back of the supportive surface. The partner being penetrated will straddle their partner’s lap, facing away from them. The partner being penetrated will slide their hands down their partners legs to help support themselves. While supporting themselves, the partner being penetrated can also lightly touch/graze their partner’s inner thighs during penetration. The penetrating partner can also hold onto their partners waist during thrusting to help provide support. The partner being penetrated has the majority of control for this position; thus once penetration occurs, it is very important for the partners to effectively communicate regarding pleasure or alterations that are needed.
For the penetrating partner, this position will work their biceps and core. For the partner being penetrated, this position will work their deltoids, core, glutes, and hamstrings. It is recommended to try this position out for 5 to 10 minutes. Per my usual recommendations, if you or your partner are not feeling well, you might consider delaying sexually engagement until both feeling up to par. As a continued healthy sex practice, please wash your hands before and after a sexual experience. If it helps you both to feel more comfortable, start your shared sexual experience by taking a shower together.
I hope you and your partner(s) are able to carve out some specific time to engage emotionally and sexually with one another. For more information for this specific position (including image) can be found on page 225 of The Kama Sutra Workout, and this book can be purchased from Amazon here.
