Counseling provides a safe place for you to process and work through a multitude of circumstances while offering valuable insight and perspective into whatever journey you may find yourself in. My philosophy is to embrace you where you are, equip you with tools, coping mechanisms and knowledge, and empower you to take those tools and lead a fulfilling life full of insight to help guide you through life’s journey.

Each one of us has a story, uniquely our own, filled with the lows and highs- each complex in its own way. As you will hear many therapists say, it’s a privilege to be able to hold part of your life story and help navigate the lows and celebrate with you in the highs- and maybe even take the sigh of relief in the neutral, mundane moments. Many ask, “What’s your approach to therapy?”.  My approach is human-centered. I desire to meet you where you’re at and walk beside you as you gain insight into whatever it is that brought you here. That may look like using several modalities such as CBT, Family Systems, EMDR, and Attachment-based theories. My approach is uniquely tailored to you or your child.

During the last 9 years of my counseling career, I have worked in a variety of settings, such as public and private schools, non-profits, community mental health centers, and private practice. During my time working in non-profits and schools, I have found my passion in working with children and adolescents who need guidance navigating life. I have worked extensively with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and self-confidence and identity.

As I have entered into the beautiful, messy adventure of motherhood, I have also found a deep passion for working with mothers and the perinatal population, especially those who have experienced birth trauma.  As a mom, I understand the impact that becoming a parent can have on both partners as well as the marriage. I find it a joy to be able to help define values, discover purpose, help cope with the stress, and find enjoyment in the role.

I desire to help educate and guide parents during the perinatal process using my training from Postpartum Support International to help understand and treat postpartum depression, anxiety and OCD. I am currently in the process of obtaining a license as a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).

Through my own lived experience with birth trauma, I recognized the need to help those who have experienced trauma related to birth. It can be a delicate and difficult time filled with conflicting emotions. To help aid in the healing process, I am completing EMDR training with an emphasis on birth trauma through the Touchstone Institute.

When I’m not in the counseling room, you’ll find me chasing my kiddos around the many Houston parks, trying the new restaurants with my husband, traveling, reading or cheering on THE Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H)!
